LOCATION: Lynnwood, Washington


Description:

The Director of Corporate & Entrepreneurship Services is an entrepreneurial leader responsible for driving growth in corporate training partnerships, spearheading contract procurement and negotiation, delivering high-impact learning solutions, and engaging with C-Suite executives and representatives to advance organizational effectiveness for client partners. This role combines business development acumen with operational excellence, leveraging process improvement to deliver innovative, tailored training to public and private sector clients.


This is an exempt position that reports to the Dean of Business, Entrepreneurship, & Professional Education.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Entrepreneurship & Business Development

  • Proactively scan market trends, assess emerging organizational needs, and identify revenue-generating opportunities for new training products and services.
  • Cultivate relationships with senior corporate stakeholders, including C-Suite executives and their representatives, to position the college as a strategic partner in workforce and leadership development.
  • Respond to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) that align with institutional capabilities and strategic goals.
  • Design client-centric solutions, leveraging cross-functional expertise and innovative delivery formats.

Contract Procurement & Strategic Negotiation

  • Lead end-to-end contract procurement processes: from needs assessment and pricing strategy, to statement of work development, to negotiation and closing.
  • Draft, review, and finalize service agreements and proposals in compliance with state/federal regulations and internal policies.
  • Manage contract execution, tracking terms and deliverables, handling any required amendments, or conflict resolution.

Corporate Training Program Design & Delivery

  • Oversee the creation, customization, and delivery of corporate training programs tailored to executive, management, and team development needs.
  • Develop and maintain quality standards, ensuring learning experiences support measurable business outcomes.
  • Select, onboard, and supervise expert instructors and consultants who deliver solutions at the highest professional level.
  • Stay informed on industry standards and trends to ensure offerings are leading-edge and relevant.

C-Suite Strategic Engagement

  • Act as the primary liaison with client executive leadership, facilitating conversations about organizational challenges and transformation goals.
  • Translate executive priorities into actionable training, coaching, and consulting solutions.
  • Represent the college at senior-level business development meetings, industry events, and strategic planning sessions with external partners.

Process Improvement & Operational Excellence

  • Evaluate and refine internal contracting, reporting, and delivery processes to maximize efficiency, transparency, and customer satisfaction.
  • Implement best practices for contract tracking, instructor assignment, client communication, and records management (including compliance with privacy and regulatory standards).
  • Establish key performance indicators and feedback mechanisms to drive improvement in all aspects of contracted training services.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation within the department.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Education, Organizational Leadership, OR a related field.
  • Proven entrepreneurial or business development experience within corporate training, professional services, or higher education.
  • Experience designing and delivering corporate or educational training programs.
  • Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and presentation skills.
  • Strong process orientation, with a record of implementing operational improvements in complex service environments.
  • Proficiency in the use of the Microsoft Office or Google suites.

PHYSICAL WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Work is typically performed in an office setting, and onsite/in-person. Recurring early/late hours (weekend/early morning/evening meetings).  This position requires the ability to drive and use of a personal vehicle. The ability to make sound judgments is essential.  The ability to sit at a desk/computer station, bend, stoop, walk and generally move around the office to consult with others, work within a busy environment and remain focused on tasks. Inventory management requires some lifting and moving of objects up to 30lbs. Excellent communication skills are essential. This includes the ability to speak clearly and fully comprehend written and spoken English and will include communication with people for whom English is not their first language. This also includes the ability to produce clearly written documents. Those who are multilingual are strongly encouraged to apply. 

 


COMPENSATION:   

Salary is $65,475.49 - $76,084.45and is based on the Edmonds College administrative/exempt salary schedule, plus a full state benefits package, which includes tuition waivers for college classes, medical, dental, retirement options and more. Vacation and leave package includes 12 sick days per year, 11 scheduled holidays, 1 personal holiday, and 24 vacation leave days per year.


WORK SCHEDULE:

Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., including some evenings and weekends.


FLSA Status:

The position is an exempt position under the Fair Labor Standards Act requirements.  


CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
