Envestnet is seeking a Manager, Accounting to join our Finance department. This is a hybrid role, with in-office work required at our Denver, CO office location.

Job Summary: 

We are looking for a motivated Accounting Manager to play an integral part in the day-to-day GL and opex accounting in a fast-paced environment. This position is essential to ensuring the highest level of financial reporting accuracy through the maintenance of internal systems and adherence to financial reporting processes.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Accounting and Reporting:
    • Prepare, review, approve and analyze journal entries for expenses, liabilities and receivables to support monthly close process.
    • Work with cross functional teams to maintain an understanding of the company’s vendors and their impact on the downstream Finance processes.
    • Provide in-depth expense and add-back analysis and insights to management.
    • Review account reconciliations for month-end closing.
    • Perform and review fluctuation analysis and apply judgment to identify unusual trends that need to be further investigated.
    • Manage team and associated deliverables to ensure close activities are on schedule.
    • Prepare and Review PBC’s to support audits and reviews, including providing documentation and addressing internal and external audit questions.
    • Assist in ad hoc projects in relation to month-end, quarter-end, or year-end processes and procedures.
  • Project Leadership/Cross Functional Collaboration:
    • Ability to work well with and influence various management levels and functions within Envestnet using skills and knowledge associated with the General Ledger and US GAAP accounting. 
    • Oversee project-related activities associated with vendor contracts, ensuring that all products and services are accurately recorded in the financial statements.
  • Research and Resolution: Lead investigations into UMP revenue issues, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Training and Development: Mentor and train team members revenue accounting processes, contract management, billing understanding and best practices for issue resolution.
  • Adherence to and application of Envestnet legal, compliance, risk, business continuity and administrative policy within the role and department(s) including the timely completion of training & awareness, affirmations and testing as requested.  
  • As part of the responsibilities for this role, you will understand and readily support Envestnet's established corporate business practices, policies, internal controls and procedures designed to create value or minimize risk.

Required Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required, CPA preferred.
  • Technical and operational knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
  • Knowledgeable regarding SOX and interactions with external auditors.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal guidance to execute in a dynamic and demanding environment by demonstrating organizational, interpersonal, communication, problem-solving, multi-tasking, and prioritization skills.
  • Demonstrate initiative, work well under pressure, highly detail oriented, self-motivated with the ability to follow through and implement process improvement.
  • Ability to assess unusual circumstances and complex problems and use analytical and problem-solving techniques to identify cause and recommend solutions.
  • Have a high degree of organization, accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative management style.
  • Strong skills with Microsoft Office software tools, excellent technology, analytical, and communication skills with emphasis on professional business writing skills.
  • 5+ years of accounting experience is required; public accounting experience is preferred.
  • Prior management experience (preferred)
  • Oracle ERP experience (or other large enterprise ERP)

Salary:

The annual base salary range for this position is $98,000 to $122,000.
