Maintenance Youth Laborer

Schedule: 40 Hours/52 Weeks

Job Summary

This position is responsible for assisting in remodeling offices, moving furniture, assembling furniture, and other general maintenance work to give our youth (under 21) the opportunity to gain work experience

Essential Functions

  • Moves heavy furniture, office equipment, supplies and records
  • Assembles furniture
  • General clean-up of Tribal facilities
  • Sweeping and shoveling sidewalks
  • Painting
  • Assist for set-up and clean-up of Tribal events
  • Mowing, trimming, shoveling, etc.
  • Shadows and assists Facility Technicians as needed
  • Ensures compliance with Tribal, federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, Tribal policies and TERO ordinance

Equipment and Tools

List Equipment used for job: Snow blower, shovel, computer, assorted power tools, saws, drill, sander, grinders, etc.,

List Tools: SDS, Assorted hand tools and wrenches for mechanical and plumbing repair. Assorted carpentry hand tools that prepare walls and surfaces for painting, patches, sanding and priming of walls and surfaces. Mixes and applies paint, lacquer, primer, sealer, stain, epoxy, and acrylic to necessary shade.

Drives KIT or Personal Vehicle: Personal vehicle and Kenaitze vehicle

  • Able to stand, walk, bend and lift materials eight hours a day
  • Conducts business in a service oriented manner that is attentive, pleasant, respectful and kind when dealing with un'ina, visitors, co-workers and others
