Description
Are you ready to make a difference within your local community? If so,
the City of Flagstaff is seeking a qualified Maintenance Worker and
housing personnel to join our team! As the Citys newest Maintenance
Worker I Housing employee, you will actively support and uphold the
Citys stated mission and values. You will be working with families at
different stages of life to take care of residential homes and
neighborhoods by making various repairs to just about anything that can
be found in these settings, along with general clean up and upkeep of
the yards/sites. By applying to this position, you are opening yourself

Examples of the Work Performed
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides excellent customer service to both internal and external
customers.
Participates in work crews performing a wide variety of maintenance,
construction, and repair work on residential assets and projects.
Participates in and performs repairs as well as residential building
maintenance to meet HUD minimum property standards and the REAC/PHAS
specifications.
Operates hand tools and hand power equipment.
May operate heavy equipment.
Basic knowledge and participation in the preparation and care of
landscape and Housing Authority grounds.
Using basic equipment, actively participates in all snow removal
operations activities safely, as required.
May provide work direction to subordinate personnel and use personnel
management skills to effectively address and resolve job-related
problems, as assigned.
May be assigned responsibility for the acceptable completion of a
maintenance project, with little direct supervision.
Safely participates in such activities as helping load and unload
equipment on trucks, trimming trees with power saws, landscaping,
minimal construction work, building repairs, painting both exteriors and
interiors, roofing, plumbing, minor electric work, window/screen
repairs, carpentry and heating repairs.
Occasionally work from blueprints, sketches, and building plans, and
frequently follow oral, or written instructions.
May assist in estimating and requisitioning materials, supplies, and
equipment needed to maintain residential facilities and projects.
Other duties as assigned.
