Maintenance Technician – Tool & Die
Job Overview
We are seeking a hands-on Maintenance Technician to support daily operations in a precision tool and die manufacturing environment. This role focuses on maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production equipment, tooling support systems, and facility infrastructure to minimize downtime and keep machining operations running efficiently.
The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, experience working around CNC machining and toolroom equipment, and is comfortable responding to both planned maintenance and urgent breakdowns.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on CNC machines, presses, grinders, and related toolroom equipment
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues
• Support tool and die manufacturing operations by maintaining auxiliary equipment (coolant systems, chip conveyors, air systems, etc.)
• Diagnose equipment failures and implement permanent fixes
• Work with production and toolroom teams to prioritize repairs
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs and documentation
• Assist with equipment installs, moves, and upgrades
• Maintain safe, clean, and organized work areas
• Follow all safety and lockout/tagout procedures
Required Experience & Skills
• Maintenance experience in a manufacturing, tool & die, or machining environment
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills
• Working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems
• Experience supporting CNC machining equipment preferred
• Ability to read basic mechanical and electrical schematics
• Comfortable working independently and responding to breakdowns
• Basic welding or fabrication skills a plus
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training preferred
