Maintenance Technician (Summer)

Essential Job Functions:
- Perform all job duties with safety as the top priority.
- Assist in maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems on production equipment.
- Support preventive maintenance activities and maintenance projects as assigned.
- Learn basic PLC and Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) concepts and assist with troubleshooting under supervision.
- Work independently or as part of a team while maintaining a positive and professional work environment.
- Follow instructions, specifications, manuals, and schematic drawings with guidance.
- Assist in diagnosing equipment issues and reporting findings to senior technicians.
- Clean, lubricate, and maintain machinery components such as bearings, gears, and shafts.
- Assist with installation and repair of electrical components and industrial machinery using hand and power tools.
- Participate in Continuous Improvement activities and safety initiatives.
- Safely operate equipment such as forklifts or scissor lifts (training provided) for overhead work.
- Assist with basic fabrication or millwright tasks such as light welding, pipefitting, or shop work (as skill level allows).
- Ability to climb ladders and work in industrial environments.

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- Currently enrolled or planning to enroll in a college or technical program related to maintenance, automation, electrical, or mechanical fields
- Basic mechanical and/or electrical knowledge preferred
- Ability to understand basic electrical circuits and mechanical systems (training provided)
- Willingness to work overtime or weekends as needed during the summer
- Dependable with good attendance and punctuality
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Valid driver’s license preferred
- Basic PLC, electrical, or welding experience is a plus but not required

Physical Requirements
Tolerance for sitting long periods of time. Possess finger dexterity to write, type, and use a calculator. Maintain adequate vision to view small print and computer terminal. Ability to speak and hear, walk throughout facilities with occasional light lifting (25 pounds), stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching with hands and arms required. Ability to travel between multiple facilities as required to perform core job duties.
