Maintenance Technician Sanitary Welder
JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary/Objective
The Maintenance Technician/Sanitary Welder position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to include installation, inspection, troubleshooting, welding, repairs, and maintenance on process and production equipment in a sanitary food production environment to support achievement of the site’s business objectives.
Essential Functions

- Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain process and production equipment throughout the facility.
- Provide emergency and unscheduled repairs to process and production equipment.
- Perform planned maintenance, inspection, and installation on process and production equipment.
- Ability to perform sanitary welding on stainless steel piping and fittings in compliance with 3A
Sanitary Standards and accepted practices.
- Proficiency and knowledge of various welding processes, equipment, and associated drawings.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, various types of drawings, and manuals in the installation, fabrication, and maintenance of process and production equipment and parts.
- Ability to perform basic machinist functions and knowledge of metal fabrication.
- Ability to troubleshoot process and production issues and assist operations in the safe and efficient operation of processes and equipment.
- Compliance with all established safety processes and practices while providing feedback on any safety processes that require enhancement or development.
- Effectively communicate with all levels within the maintenance and operations departments on the status of assigned work, repairs, and projects.

Required Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience.
- 5+ years of manufacturing experience that includes sanitary welding experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- An AA degree in mechanical, electrical or industrial maintenance. Experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
- Food & beverage experience with knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
