Our company, an industry leader in manufacturing, is seeking a highly skilled Permanent Maintenance Technician to join our dynamic and fast-paced team. This role is crucial to ensuring the ongoing efficiency and successful operation of our manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, equipment maintenance, and conveyor maintenance. This role requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience. If you have a passion for problem-solving, a knack for fixing things, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety and efficiency, this job could be the perfect fit for you.
Responsibilities:
1. Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, and the physical condition of the building does not deteriorate.
2. Inspect, operate, and test machinery and equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions.
3. Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs as necessary.
4. Repair or replace defective equipment parts using hand tools and power tools, and reassemble equipment.
5. Monitor and maintain the operation of conveyor systems, identifying any issues and implementing timely solutions.
6. Record type and cost of maintenance or repair work.
7. Coordinate work functions with co-workers, supervisors, and departments.
8. Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, ensuring a safe and healthy work environment.
9. Participate in ongoing technical training and development opportunities to remain current on industry trends and advancements.
Qualifications:
1. High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a relevant field preferred.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a maintenance role within a manufacturing environment.
3. Demonstrated experience in troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, equipment maintenance, and conveyor maintenance.
4. Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
5. Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders.
6. Proficient with hand and power tools.
7. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
8. Ability to lift and move heavy equipment.
9. Willingness to comply with all safety protocols and procedures.
10. Flexible to work in shifts, over weekends, and on public holidays, if required.
11. Certification in industrial maintenance, HVAC, or a related field will be an advantage.
