Make a difference as a Maintenance Technician

The Maintenance Technician at R&R plays a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and operational readiness of our diverse vehicle fleet. This dual-purpose position involves detailing various vehicle types, from cars to heavy-duty trucks, ensuring they are in top condition. As a self-starter with a strong mechanical aptitude, you will execute basic preventative maintenance tasks, such as oil changes and tire rotations, while also assisting senior mechanics with more complex repairs.

Maintaining an organized and clean shop environment is essential, as you will be responsible for sweeping, organizing parts, and other custodial functions to ensure safety. You will also prepare vehicles for employee check-out and collaborate with the shop team to address all fleet and facility needs. This role offers a unique opportunity to develop your mechanical skills while contributing to a high-performance, customer-focused team.

Would you be a great Maintenance Technician?

To excel as a Maintenance Technician at R&R, candidates must possess a strong mechanical aptitude and ideally have over a year of experience in automotive or fleet maintenance. A high school diploma or GED is required, along with a valid driver's license and a clean driving record. Effective teamwork and communication skills are essential, as is a keen attention to detail.

The role demands the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and a strong desire to advance in the mechanical trade. Physical capabilities are important, as the job involves frequently lifting and manipulating heavy components, standing, walking, and bending for extended periods. Candidates should demonstrate excellent hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills for using precision tools.

Knowledge and skills required for the position are:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Mechanical aptitude is required; 1+ years of related automotive or fleet experience is preferred.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Strong teamwork, clear verbal and written communication, and high attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with a strong desire to learn the mechanical trade.
  • Ability to frequently lift, push, and pull up to 50-75 lbs. (occasionally heavier with assistance) and manipulate large truck components.
  • Requires continuous standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, and crawling in and around commercial vehicles; must be able to climb stairs frequently.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills for using precision tools and working with small components.
  • Primary work is performed in an unheated outdoor garage or repair shop (8-10 hours per day) with frequent exposure to weather elements and loud noises.
  • Frequent exposure to grease, oil, dirt, fuel, fume, and chemicals.
  • Regular use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, steel-toed boots, and hearing protection is mandatory.
