Job Summary
The Maintenance Technician Expert is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems on heavy manufacturing equipment. This role involves performing preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting complex system issues, and ensuring that all equipment operates efficiently and safely.
Job Description
- Install, maintain, repair, and modify mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems.
- Perform preventive maintenance on NC (numerical control) and manual equipment using written procedures and checklists.
- Diagnose and repair issues with electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems, including: Mazak (most critical), Mazatrol, Mitsubishi, Siemens Control, Mori Seiki, QEM, Nagel TBT
- Schedule and complete all maintenance and repairs with minimal supervision.
- Assist with installation and commissioning of new production equipment.
- Maintain equipment per established procedures, reporting any deviations or failures.
- Utilize appropriate hand tools, precision instruments, and automated equipment safely.
- Create and maintain preventive maintenance checklists for operator use.
- Document all maintenance activities accurately and prepare detailed reports as required.
- Participate in pre-job and toolbox safety meetings.
- Train and mentor other technicians in maintenance procedures and safety protocols.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Complete all mandatory safety training (forklift, electrical safety, emergency response, first aid, hazardous materials, PPE use, and others as required).
Skills Required
- 5–10 years of experience as a maintenance technician in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and repair complex electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
- Prior Mazak field technician experience highly preferred.
- Experience with CNC and multi-axis machinery maintenance is strongly desired.
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Teams.
- Experience with SAP and Brady LINK360 (lockout/tagout) preferred.
- Forklift and scissor lift experience beneficial (certification may be provided).
- Fine electronics and soldering experience a plus.
- Shift: 1st Monday–Friday, 4:00 AM to 12:30 PM
Education
- Highschool diploma or GED
Pay Rate
- $25 per hour and higher depending on experience
Additional Details
- Works independently with minimal supervision.
- No travel required; this is a 100% onsite position.
- 90–95% indoor work in an air-conditioned facility.
- Physically demanding environment with some heavy lifting required.
- All PPE provided.
