Sparks Group is seeking a reliable and hands-on Maintenance Technician to support the day-to-day operations of building systems and facilities for a University. This role is responsible for performing preventive maintenance, responding to service requests, and assisting with emergency situations to ensure a safe and well-maintained environment. This a contract role that requires you to be on site every day. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, problem-solving, and being part of a team that keeps operations running smoothly. You’ll play a key role in maintaining a safe and functional environment for all occupants. Responsibilities
  • Perform planned and preventive maintenance on building systems and equipment using a work order system
  • Accurately document work performed and resolutions for supervisor review and close-out
  • Respond to routine service requests and emergency situations, assessing and resolving issues efficiently
  • Assist with water-related incidents (e.g., flooding, leaks) using equipment such as pumps, water extraction tools, mops, and squeegees
  • Provide HVAC and plumbing support for campus events and operational needs
  • Operate and maintain tools and equipment related to facilities maintenance
  • Ensure work areas are clean and organized at the end of each shift and upon task completion
  • Support weather-related or other emergency response efforts as needed
Qualifications
  • Previous experience in building maintenance, facilities, or a related field preferred
  • Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and general building systems
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to respond to urgent situations
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to support after-hours or emergency situations when required

Pay Range: Hourly $27.00 to $28.50
