Maintenance Supervisor - Industrial Food Manufacturing

The Maintenance Supervisor performs functions directed towards successfully and efficiently meeting manufacturing goals for customer orders by maintaining the facility and equipment good repair and in working order so as to eliminate down time.
Essential Functions
Must meet all requirements for Mechanics without direct assistance or supervision
Must have knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform all preventative maintenance
Plan, fabricate and install non-mechanical equipment (such as stands, tables, etc.)
Keep detailed** records
** on work orders, down time, maintenance projects and materials purchased
Perform work to 600 volt electrical systems
Able to weld with good precision utilizing a heli-arc, tig welder and plasma cutter
Licensed to operate both stand up and sit down forklift
Monitor, complete and update **PM program
**and Idle Assets Database
- Has responsibility for making recommendations in hiring, firing, discipline, promotion, transfer, and compensation decisions.
- Conduct employee **training
** and champion the department’s continuous improvement
- Comply / enforce established standards, procedures, and expectations for quality, safety and sanitation
- Maintains labor cost control by completing tasks on straight time, ensuring proper manning, and managing projects to ensure efficiency in department.
- Be familiar with all **company policies and procedures
** and the local practices of such; uphold/enforce them in order to maintain fairness and consistency of treatment.
- Administer employee appraisals and salary reviews and provide employees with feedback.
- **Assist
** employees in solving work related issues; providing employee guidance/direction, counsel and motivation.
- **Assist Administer
**; tools, materials and parts purchases through the NWF Req Database.
- In charge of Maintenance Mechanics work schedule.
- Maintence Supervisor in **on-call
** for any Urgent assistance needed throughout the week.
- Perform other duties or special projects as needed.
Qualifications
- Technical Trade/ College Degree or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years manufacturing maintenance experience with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a food manufacturing environment.
- Minimum of 2-3 years experience supervising employees. Must have solid leadership skills and be decisive in allocating assignments/tasks
- Knowledge of PLC's and VFD's. Experience with Allen Bradley is a plus! Does not need to know how to program, only to troubleshoot
