About the Role:


CBRE is seeking an experienced Lead Bike Mechanic to support a large, fast-paced social media campus in Sunnyvale, CA. In this hands-on leadership role, you’ll act as the operational link between bike mechanics and the Bike Program Manager, ensuring efficient shop operations, high-quality repairs, and consistent service delivery across a diverse bike program. You’ll lead daily workflows spanning a 200+ bike campus fleet, employee repairs, bike sales, and loaner bikes, while modeling strong leadership and a commitment to sustainable transportation solutions. This role is ideal for a skilled bicycle mechanic who thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys balancing technical expertise with team leadership.


This job is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function. They are responsible for providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems.


What You'll Do:


+ Oversee day-to-day operations of on-site bike shops, ensuring timely execution of maintenance, repairs, and service workflows.

+ Serve as a lead for bike mechanics by providing guidance, answering technical questions, and resolving issues as they arise.

+ Monitor the performance and quality of service across campus bike, employee bike repair, loaner bike, and online marketplace programs.

+ Support training and onboarding of new staff, reinforcing best practices and standard procedures.

+ Monitor the performance and quality of service across campus bikes, employee bike repairs, loaner bikes, and online marketplace programs.

+ Assign work orders and estimate the time and materials needed to complete repairs based on program needs and urgency.

+ Assist with maintaining inventory, shop cleanliness, and the upkeep of shop tools and equipment.

+ Coordinate with subcontracted suppliers and staff, including daily campus bike rebalancing staff and operations.

+ Have some knowledge of standard principles with limited practical experience in applying them.

+ Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values.

+ Work within standardized procedures and practices to achieve objectives and meet deadlines.

+ Exchange straightforward information, ask questions, and check for understanding.


What You'll Need:


+ High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 2-3 years of job-related experience. In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered. Valid driver's license.

+ Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.

+ Ability to use existing procedures to solve standard problems.

+ Experience with analyzing information and standard practices to make judgments.

+ In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.

+ Organizational skills with a strong inquisitive mindset.

The minimum salary for the Maintenance Snr Technician position is $35 per hour and the maximum salary is $40 per hour. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience.
