We're Hiring!

We are seeking a Maintenance Specialist to join our team. This full-time position is responsible for providing facility maintenance, repair and/or replacement of the agency occupied buildings, systems, equipment and grounds, including the coordination of contracted services such as cleaning, snow removal, lawn maintenance and repair of agency owned vehicles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Follow all applicable safety rules and procedures to ensure a safe, trauma informed environment for all staff and guests that enter any of our facilities.
  • Proactively identify safety concerns to prevent accidents from occurring and address such concerns. (i.e. replace flashing or burned-out light bulbs to ensure areas are properly lit; clear snow/salt in entranceways as needed; removing items that are stored improperly; etc.)
  • Maintain documentation/records of daily activity and produce regular reports and summaries as needed.
  • Maintain current filing systems allowing access to manuals, inspection reports, invoices and other supporting data as needed.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull heavy objects (e.g., up to 50+ pounds).
  • Ability to stand, walk, or perform repetitive motions for extended periods.
  • Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, or reach overhead repeatedly.
  • Good hand-eye coordination for handling tools, equipment, or machinery.
  • Ability to maintain balance while performing tasks on ladders, scaffolding, or uneven surfaces.
  • Comfort with working on elevated platforms, ladders, or scaffolding, if necessary.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Required: High School Diploma/GED

Experience:

  • Required:2+ years' experience in building maintenance or the trades with knowledge of carpentry, electrical, plumbing and/or mechanical systems.

Skills and Competencies:

  • An attitude that is accepting, non-judgmental and culturally competent.
  • Ability to coordinate and manage multiple tasks.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed by on-call and event schedules.
  • Valid Wisconsin Driver's License is required. Applicant may be asked to drive at night or in poor weather conditions. Maintain required auto insurance and acceptable driving record requirements.
