Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic (Print Presses) / Millwright

Location: Asbury Park, NJ
Type: Direct Hire
Compensation: $28.00 - $30.00 per hour + overtime
Contractor Work Model: Onsite
Work Hours: Monday – Friday, 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM and some overtime as needed


Maintenance Mechanic (Print Presses) / Millwright Responsibilities:
  • Operate within a Highly Secure Production Environment
    • Work in a state-of-the-art facility manufacturing secure bank cards, credit cards, and smart cards using high-speed machinery and cutting-edge technology.
    • Contribute to high-volume production, currently operating eight high-speed machines with an output of 20K cards per shift, supporting a rapidly expanding company.
    • Maintain and Service Advanced Print Press Machinery
      • Perform comprehensive maintenance on diverse equipment, including troubleshooting complex mechanical and electrical issues, repairing and replacing parts, conducting precise calibrations, and installing new machinery.
  • Leverage Data for Proactive Maintenance
    • Utilize computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) to accurately track repairs, adhere to preventative maintenance (PM) schedules, and analyze data for continuous improvement of equipment efficiency and reduction of downtime.
  • Optimize Production Support and Response
    • Respond promptly to service requests, strategically prioritizing mechanical repairs based on dynamic production demands to minimize operational interruptions.
  • Lead Equipment Installation and Integration
    • Manage new equipment installations, including rigging, setup, utility connections (power, internet), seamless integration into the CMMS, and providing essential staff training on new machinery.
  • Manage Parts Inventory and Fabrication
    • Replace and order necessary spare parts and components; perform basic in-house fabrication as needed to ensure operational readiness.
  • Ensure Precision and Quality Control
    • Calibrate equipment settings, including thermal temperatures, speed controls, and PLC/sensor-driven components, to guarantee the highest quality product output.
  • Utilize Technical Schematics for Diagnostics
    • Regularly refer to and interpret detailed electrical schematics to perform advanced diagnostics, troubleshoot root causes, and integrate system upgrades.
  • Operate Warehouse Power Equipment
    • Safely operate forklifts, cherry pickers, and other essential power equipment within the warehouse environment to facilitate equipment movement and installation.
Maintenance Mechanic (Print Presses) / Millwright Requirements:
  • Must be available for 2nd shift work, Monday - Friday, 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required, post high school vocational or technical studies preferred
  • At least two (2) years as a Maintenance Mechanic servicing production machinery in a warehouse setting is required. Preferred experience with printers and high speed print presses is highly desirable or similar equipment such as high-speed production machinery or packaging equipment (Examples: boxers, sealers, folders, etc.)
  • Must have strong mechanical aptitude along with the ability to preform basic electrical troubleshooting, calibration, re-wiring/repair and electrical service up to but not including electrical panels
  • Able to use centralized maintenance management (CMM) computerized software for tracking repairs, PMs, ordering parts and report analysis
  • Must be able to effectively train staff, encourage Operators and teach. We cross train everyone everywhere whenever possible.
  • Follows 5s and Kazien philosophy to standardize work, improve processes and workflows. Trains and empower Operators.
  • Serves as a "key" staff member on our 2nd shift Production Team.
