Maintenance Mechanic

The Maintenance Technician is a full-time, on-site position responsible for ensuring the reliable operation, maintenance, and repair of production and facility equipment within a fast-paced food manufacturing and automated packaging environment. This role plays a critical part in minimizing downtime, maintaining equipment performance, and supporting daily production demands. The technician works closely with Production, Operations, and Kitchen teams and reports to the Operations Manager.

  Core Responsibilities
  

  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and unscheduled repairs on automated packaging equipment, food processing machinery, and commercial kitchen systems

  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and basic PLC-related issues to maintain continuous production flow

  • Support equipment startups, production changeovers, and system troubleshooting during active operations

  • Maintain and service facility and production systems including motors, sensors, ovens, steam and water systems, humidity controls, and washdown-compliant equipment

  • Document all maintenance work, parts consumption, and downtime accurately using maintenance logs or computerized maintenance systems (CMMS)

  • Contribute to ongoing improvement efforts focused on equipment reliability, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance

  • Carry out additional maintenance or facility-related tasks as needed to support overall plant operations

  Required Qualifications
  
  

  • At least three (3) years of hands-on maintenance experience in an industrial setting; experience in food manufacturing, meal production, or consumer packaged goods environments is highly desirable

  • Demonstrated ability to diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical equipment issues effectively

  • Familiarity with automated packaging systems and industrial food-service equipment

  • Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, schematics, and safety procedures while adhering to GMP, HACCP, and sanitation standards

  • Strong attention to detail with a consistent commitment to safety and quality

  • Ability to work on-site and respond quickly to urgent maintenance situations

  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is strongly preferred
