Maintenance Mechanic

Education, Experience and Competencies:
1. High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of three (3) years of experience as a maintenance mechanic.
2. Has been trained and is capable of completing Preventive Maintenance Forms for production equipment.
3. Good verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
4. Must demonstrate capability of using hand and power tools.
5. Understands safety policies, quality policy and environmental policies.
Essential Functions:
1. Effectively evaluates machine performance and performs or recommends repairs.
2. Performs preventive maintenance.
3. Completes repairs on infrastructure.
4. Troubleshoots and diagnoses electrical, hydraulic, mechanical and pneumatic deficiencies of production equipment with some supervision.
5. Welds and follows safe welding practices.
6. Adheres to CWM’s Cultural Pillars (Maintain a positive attitude; Show respect for others; Meet commitments; Maintain transparency; Cater to all equally).
Additional Responsibilities:
1. Interprets and utilizes electrical, hydraulic, mechanical and pneumatic drawings of production equipment with some supervision.
2. Utilizes hand tools, power tools, and hoists/cranes to repair and maintain production equipment.
3. Utilizes calipers, micrometers and other gauges to evaluate production equipment components.
4. Keeps work area clean of debris and safety hazards.
5. May be trained and assigned to perform Temperature Controller Calibration and Correction of Temperature Controllers Out of Tolerance.
6. May be trained and assigned to operate a forklift.
7. May be trained and assigned to perform Machine Qualification Checks.
8. May be trained and assigned to perform Gooseneck replacement.
