Position Summary
 
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Inventory Clerk will be responsible for managing the MaintainX PM Program in the maintenance department.  You will be required to communicate with Maintenance Supervisors and mechanics daily to schedule PM and equipment repairs.  You will work closing with the inventory clerk to ensure that spare parts are on the shelf.  The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated individual who is punctual, dependable, and organized. 
 
Position Responsibilities
 
  • Become familiar with the MaintainX Preventative Maintenance Program.
  • Communication with Managers, Supervisors and mechanics.
  • Create work orders and assign work orders to the maintenance team.
  • Hold Supervisors and mechanics accountable for the timeline and execution of the work order.
  • Review the reactive workorders and make assignments.
  • Work with inventory clerk to ensure spare parts are on the shelf for repairs.
  • Receive and inspect all items coming into the plant.
  • Restock and rearrange stockroom parts, when necessary, inside and outside the stockroom for expansion or downsizing.
  • Maintain stockroom in a clean and orderly manner.
 
  • Input new items into the Inventory Stock System.
  • Assist supervisors in purchasing and ordering spare parts and supplies.
  • Work with inventory to adjust minimum/maximum levels to reduce inventory levels and decrease stock outages.
  • Generate reports when necessary.
  • Ship stockroom items when necessary.
  • Maintain hazardous waste program and SDS books for Maintenance Department.
  • Pick up parts off-site, when necessary.
  • Work with other departments to minimize problem areas.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
 
 
Position Requirements
 
  •  Experience in stockroom ordering and inventory, preferably in a food manufacturing facility. 
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.  Ability to read, write and speak Spanish preferred but not required. 
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
  • Experience on Excel and Word software.
  • Familiar with computerized inventory and requisition systems, and maintenance parts for food processing equipment.
  • Ability to work with vendors by phone and in person.
