The Maintenance Engineer supports maintenance execution activities by helping scope field repairs, coordinating work packages, supplying technical input during equipment issues, and ensuring maintenance projects are properly planned and documented. This position focuses on day-to-day equipment support, assisting technicians, and coordinating improvements that enhance safe and efficient maintenance execution.
Key Responsibilities
Participate in equipment walkdowns, failure follow-ups, and troubleshooting activities under the direction of operations and maintenance supervision.
Support spare part confirmations, vendor recommendations, and material substitutions.
Provide engineering review and field support for small maintenance-driven capital upgrades or replacements.
Contribute to continuous improvement of PM task descriptions and basic compliance tracking to help document maintenance; assisting supervisors in capturing repeat issues requiring further technical evaluation.
Required Skills & Experience:
Must have bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical, or related Engineering discipline
Must have 5+ years of experience in a maintenance, project engineering, or manufacturing support role
Must have familiarity with CMMS software for work order execution support
Must have knowledge of process plant equipment, terminology, and basic mechanical concepts commonly encountered in industrial operations. This includes familiarity with flange classes, pump seals, centrifugal and positive displacement pumps, automated valves, and general piping concepts such as pipe schedules and material types.
