A Maintenance Engineer is expected to have an extensive background in a maintenance-related field, preferably within a hospitality or resort environment, and/or a minimum of five (5) years of construction experience. This position is responsible for performing monthly preventative maintenance on all resort mechanical equipment and systems.
The Engineer will be required to complete a wide variety of general maintenance and repair tasks, including but not limited to drywall repair, painting, tile work, hard surface repairs, and other preventative maintenance duties as needed. They must be highly organized, able to multitask, and capable of prioritizing multiple work orders to ensure guests are served promptly and professionally.
This role involves completing construction-based projects with minimal supervision. The incumbent is responsible for managing assigned projects from start to completion, ensuring quality workmanship and adherence to timelines. The ability to work independently, with little to no assistance, is essential.
Strong communication skills are required, as the Maintenance Engineer must effectively and professionally communicate with management and front desk staff on a regular basis to ensure maintenance issues are identified, addressed, and resolved in a timely manner.

- Completion of routine and emergency maintenance and the operation of the physical structure of the property, all mechanical systems and any other systems which affect the operation of the facility.
- Utilizing highest quality work standards in all tasks and assignments according to performance and safety requirements.
- Effective utilization of work order-based system.
- Support and assure compliance of all local, state and federal regulations.
- Perform any necessary repairs or maintenance as required or assigned.
- Conduct self as a resource for all departments of the property.
- Maintain cleanliness and integrity of mechanical areas, shops, tools and carts.
- Perform special projects as assigned by the Director of Engineering or Engineering Manager.
- Must be available for emergencies at the property
- Compliance with departmental and company grooming standards.
- Available to work any shift as deemed necessary by Director of Engineering or Engineering Manager.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or required
- Maintain current organization of parts and inventory and submit requisition forms for parts to Engineering Manager
- Must be 18 years or older and able to read, write, and speak English
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and on‑call emergencies
- 3+ years in a maintenance-related role (hospitality preferred) or 5+ years of construction experience
- Proven ability to work independently, take ownership of projects, and make sound decisions in high‑stress environments
- Strong multitasking and problem‑solving skills
- Solid working knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, life safety, and preventative maintenance
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
- Basic skills in carpentry, drywall, and painting
- Knowledge of OSHA, MSDS, and safety best practices with strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication and guest service skills
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office and common technology platforms
- Maintain professional appearance, reliable attendance, and comply with all hotel standards
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Must have knowledge of Microsoft office, excel and ability to communicate professionally via email
- Must maintain a positive attitude and a willingness to help the guest and fellow team members
Pay: $22.00hr
