Maintenance Assistants

Manager open to rates above the stated range for highly skilled candidates.
Eligible for OT.
Support preventative maintenance work.
Perform welding, cutting, and fitting tasks.

Must demonstrate the ability to coordinate efforts with the maintenance foreman, mine foreman, crusher/jig plant foreman and other mine personnel.
Report maintenance concerns to the shift boss or foreman for the appropriate scheduling of maintenance functions or repairs.
Maintain proper tool storage and organization, clean work areas and safe work conditions.
Perform heavy manual clean-up using shovels, picks, hoes and brooms; Lift, carry, manipulate tools;
Perform repetitive hand and arm functions as are required operating jacks, ratchet wrenches, chain hoists, and come-alongs;

Operating forklifts and cranes.
Work outside in all extremes of weather;
Occasionally work in restrictive spaces with difficult access;
Occasionally climb onto and work on high perches on tall storage bins, conveyor structures, or buildings;
Climb up and down inclines and slopes with aid of stairs or ropes;
Work on shift schedules including night and graveyard shifts.
Be responsible for compliance with regulatory requirements and the Companys procedures and guidelines in the performance of their duties.
Perform their job safely and in an environmentally responsible manner.
Continually inspect their work areas for unsafe or substandard conditions or unsafe work practices.
Correct or take interim action on any unsafe or substandard conditions or practices that they observe and report to the immediate supervisor.
Participate, as required, in all training classes and exercises.
Participate, as required, in all HSE performance development activities and systems.
Report all injury, near-miss, property damage and hazardous conditions to their immediate supervisor.
Support continuous improvement efforts to improve the efficiency and productivity of Maintenance Technicians.

Experience Requirements
No strict minimum years required.
Candidates with welding/cutting apprenticeships are acceptable.

Education
No formal education requirement; high school diploma or GED preferred but not mandatory.
Must be able to read and write.

Shift / Hours
First shift: approximately 6:30 AM 4:30 PM.
5 day workweek; however, they currently work weekends due to high workload.

Training
Extensive hands on, on the job training for site specific tasks.

PPE / Dress Code
Required on day one:
Steel toe boots
Long sleeve shirt and pants

Company will later issue coveralls and additional PPE.

Interview Process
In person interview required.
Includes a site tour so candidates can see the environment before accepting.
