Work Schedule: Part-Time – 16 Hours/Week
Shift: 2nd
Pay Rate: $20 – $25 per hour

Job Description:

An individual who has lived experience with mental illness, addiction, co-occurring conditions, and/or recovery and is trained/certified in peer services. Support others going through similar life challenges they once experienced. Assist individuals in developing the skills and resources they need to live an independent and productive life in the community. Helps consumers as they transition from one level of care to another. Reports to an administrative superior and is responsible for providing comprehensive patient care services that support the integrity of the Department of Health and Human Services – Division of Mental Health and Substance Abuse.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide peer-based support to individuals with mental health and/or substance use challenges using lived experience and recovery principles

  • Assist individuals transitioning between levels of care (hospital, treatment facilities, community-based services)

  • Support consumers in developing independent living skills and accessing community resources

  • Serve as a role model by sharing recovery experiences to instill hope and motivation

  • Deliver comprehensive peer support services aligned with DHSS and DSAMH standards

  • Maintain documentation and communicate effectively with supervisors and care teams

  • Report to an administrative supervisor and collaborate within the Mobile Bridge Program

Minimum Qualification:
  1. Applicant must be at least 18 years of age.

  2. Applicant must have a High School Diploma or GED.

  3. Applicant must have direct personal experience living with mental illness and/or addiction and recovery

  4. Applicant must be willing to self-disclose lived experience for the purpose of education, role modeling, and providing hope to others about the reality of recovery.

  5. Valid driver's license
