Volt is immediately hiring for a CNC Machinist in Santa Maria, CA

As a CNC Machinist, you will:

• Operate CNC lathes and mills to produce precision components according to engineering specifications
• Perform quality checks, including first?part inspections, to ensure all parts meet strict dimensional tolerances
• Make necessary adjustments to programs, tooling, and setups to maintain accuracy and production flow
• Read and interpret technical drawings, including GD&T, to execute machining operations effectively
• Handle daily machine checks and basic maintenance to ensure consistent performance
• Lead or assist with setups and provide guidance to colleagues on troubleshooting and adjustments
• Update setup sheets and program details to support future machining tasks
• Maintain strict adherence to safety procedures and clean work habits on the production floor

The ideal candidate will have:

• Strong understanding of CNC machining principles and hands?on experience with lathes and mills (including 2?axis and 4th?axis operation)
• Ability to hold extremely tight tolerances (down to .0005)
• Experience reading blueprints and interpreting GD&T
• Knowledge of basic shop math and measurement tools
• Comfort working with ERP systems and standard computer applications
• Ability to perform diagnostics and basic program troubleshooting
• Experience mentoring or supporting others in machine setups
• Machinist certification or proven equivalent skills

Preferred:

• Familiarity with ISO9001 or AS9100 quality standards
• Exposure to Lean Manufacturing environments

Pay Rate:$28 – $35 per hour

Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
