Hire Type: Direct Hire
Benefits: Eligible from day 1 and almost 100% coverage! In addition to 11 paid holidays, 2 weeks vacation, 401K, etc.
Hourly Rate: $21.00; $1.00/hr increase after successfully completing introductory period (90 days)
Bonus/ Incentives/ Stock Options: $3,000 sign on bonus
Schedule is currently 13 days on and 1 day off; start time is at 5AM, working 10-12 hour days
Job Summary: Operate machines that break down railcar wheelsets, recondition axles to be used for new sets, mount new wheels to reconditioned axles, recondition wheelsets, move material and press new bearings on wheelsets that have been reconditioned or new sets.
Job Duties:
- Use measuring devices (i.e. gages, calipers)
- Ability to read micrometers and work to tight tolerances
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Operate overhead cranes
- Basic shop math
- Strong attention to detail
- Flexibility in shift and schedule
