Job Description — Management Analyst I (MA I) / Peer Support

Schedule: 1 day per week (weekend), 8 hours
Weekend Work: Yes
Pay Rate: $20/hr (W2) 

Position Overview: The Peer Support Specialist is an individual with lived experience with mental illness, addiction, co-occurring conditions, and/or recovery who supports others facing similar challenges. The role provides peer-based recovery support and transition assistance, helping individuals build skills and resources needed to live independently and productively in the community under the DHSS behavioral health program.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide peer recovery support based on lived experience
• Support individuals transitioning between levels of care
• Assist clients in developing independent living and community skills
• Interview clients, families, and related parties to obtain case history
• Identify, document, and advocate for client needs and barriers
• Maintain an assigned caseload and provide ongoing support
• Prepare narrative reports and contact documentation
• Partner with family, providers, and support networks for recovery coordination
• Assist with benefit or service application forms when needed
• Conduct routine follow-up calls with clients 

Minimum Qualifications:

• Applicant must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
• Applicant must have direct personal experience living with mental illness and/or addiction and recovery.
