Position Overview

System One is seeking a highly motivated Maintenance & Technical (M&T) Training / Instructor – Electrical to support advanced nuclear reactor development and training initiatives. This role focuses on the design, development, and delivery of Electrical Maintenance & Technical training programs supporting next-generation nuclear projects, including regulatory and accreditation requirements.

The M&T Training Developer / Instructor (Electrical) reports to the M&T Training Manager and plays a key role in establishing training programs, procedures, and accreditation strategies for a newly developed training organization. This position collaborates closely with engineering, operations, regulatory agencies, and project partners to ensure high-quality, compliant training outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver in-depth electrical training covering operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of nuclear plant electrical systems

  • Design and execute hands-on training exercises, lab activities, mock-ups, and OJT programs

  • Apply the Systematic Approach to Training (SAT) to develop, revise, and maintain training curricula

  • Develop M&T training processes, programs, and procedures compliant with NRC regulations, INPO accreditation standards, and applicable codes

  • Prepare and administer examinations, performance evaluations, and trainee qualification assessments

  • Maintain instructional and technical accuracy based on plant design changes, procedural updates, and regulatory requirements

  • Participate in Training Curriculum Review Committees and accreditation efforts

  • Support initial accreditation strategy development and execution

  • Incorporate operating experience, regulatory notices, and industry best practices into training materials

  • Maintain auditable training records and support NRC, INPO, and internal audits

  • Coordinate with management, emergency response organizations, and project stakeholders

  • Assist Training Management with department goals, cost estimates, and training program budgeting

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 6 years total experience, including:

    • At least 2 years of commercial nuclear power plant experience in an electrical maintenance discipline

    • At least 4 years of military nuclear experience

    • Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered

    • Demonstrated expertise in the analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation of M&T training programs

    • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

    • Excellent technical writing, communication, and presentation skills

    • High attention to detail and commitment to training excellence

    • Strong integrity, teamwork, and communication skills

    • Ability to adapt to evolving plant designs, procedures, schedules, and commissioning challenges

    • Understanding of how individual actions impact regulatory compliance and public trust
