The Oblate Madonna Residence is seeking candidates for the following employment opportunities:
Position Title:Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)
Position Status: On-Site, Non-Exempt/ Full-time, Part-time and Per Diem, San Antonio, TX
Summary of Description
The Licensed Vocational Nurse is currently licensed with the Texas Nursing Board of Nursing and assists in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of health care provided at Oblate Madonna Residence, (OMR), under the direction of the Nursing Supervisor.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provides delegated nursing care and functions at Oblate Madonna Residence as assigned by the Nursing Supervisor using and complying with established procedures, policies, guidelines, and standards.
- Assesses health status of residents and follows plan of care as prescribed by the Registered Nurse.
- Properly utilizes and maintains communication by utilizing the proper Chain of Command at OMR. Answers and refers to telephone calls or other inquiries to ensure accurate and timely communication is facilitated.
- Supervises unlicensed health care personnel.
- Accurately documents medical and pertinent information in medical records.
- In the absence of the Nursing Supervisor acts as the liaison between residents, physicians, family members, and the Oblate Administration.
- Assists residents, family members or other clients with concern and empathy; respects their confidentiality and privacy and communicates with them in a courteous and respectful manner.
- Must agree to remain on property during Oblate meals and will be paid meal breaks.
- Must agree to perform work during their own paid meal breaks, as needed.
- Must maintain regular and reliable attendance.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Education and Experience
- Graduate of an accredited LVN school, required.
- Current Texas LVN license, required.
- Two years' clinical experience, required
Skills and Qualifications
- Valid Driver's License and safe driving record, required.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills required.
- Ethical conduct, required.
- Patient, client focused, have personal effectiveness and credibility, required.
- Effective time management skills required
Work Hours
Various- Full-time, part-time and PRN available
Must pass background check and pre-employment drug testing
