Job Details
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Logistics Supervisor to join our team in the manufacturing industry. The successful candidate will have a robust background in plant operations, labor management, and cost control. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead and manage our logistics department, ensuring smooth and efficient business operations. The individual will be responsible for coordinating and monitoring supply chain operations, improving performance, productivity, efficiency, and profitability through the implementation of effective methods and strategies.
Responsibilities:
1. Plan, coordinate, and monitor logistics operations such as warehousing, inventory, transportation, and supply chain processes.
2. Oversee and manage the entire life cycle of a product, including acquisition, distribution, internal allocation, and final delivery.
3. Implement and oversee security operations to prevent theft or damage.
4. Develop and manage budgets in accordance with the financial plan of the organization.
5. Implement cost reduction strategies and savings initiatives to drive profitability.
6. Ensure all operations adhere to laws, guidelines, and ISO requirements.
7. Coordinate and manage the utilization of trucks, drivers, and routes to maximize productivity and ensure safety.
8. Manage and monitor staff performance and development goals, assign accountabilities, set objectives, establish priorities, and conduct annual performance appraisals.
9. Develop and implement a logistics process that is scalable and flexible to accommodate the growth of the organization.
10. Collaborate with other departments to integrate logistics with business systems or processes.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a logistics supervisory role in the manufacturing industry.
3. Demonstrated knowledge of plant operations, labor management, and cost control.
4. Proven experience in managing and directing a logistics team.
5. Proficient in standard logistics software.
6. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team.
7. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
8. Ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
9. Strong understanding of customer service principles.
10. Demonstrated ability to lead and manage staff.
11. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
12. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
