About the Role:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Logistics Specialist to join our team in Cambridge, MA. This hybrid position plays a critical role in ensuring seamless order fulfillment by managing domestic and international sales orders within SAP ERP. The ideal candidate will have experience in SAP materials management, dangerous goods handling, and export compliance.
This role is essential to maintaining timely delivery of products to customers, particularly those involving battery-related shipments. You will be responsible for entering and tracking orders, preparing shipping documentation, and supporting continuous process improvements across logistics operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately enter and manage domestic and international sales orders in SAP ERP, including standard orders, project-based orders, and RMAs.
- Prepare all necessary shipping and compliance documentation , including:
- Bills of Lading
- Commercial Invoices
- Dangerous Goods Documentation (including labels and packing slips)
- Ensure full compliance with export laws and trade regulations , especially for hazardous materials such as batteries.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Serve as a SAP ERP subject matter expert for order processing and fulfillment systems; provide training and support to internal teams.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Customer Service, Finance, and Operations to resolve issues and improve workflows.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives , identifying inefficiencies and proposing system or procedural enhancements.
- Maintain high-quality data standards and ensure accuracy across systems and reports.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Education:
- Associate s Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field OR
- Equivalent work experience in logistics or order management
Preferred:
- Bachelor s Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, or Operations
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in logistics, order management, or international operations
- Experience working in a customer service or finance environment is a plus
- Hands-on experience with SAP ERP (specifically Sales Order Processing modules)
Certifications:
- Dangerous Goods Certification (IATA, IMDG, or 49 CFR), or the ability to obtain certification within 30 days of hire
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite : Outlook, Word, Excel (Intermediate to Advanced)
- Familiarity with Microsoft Teams and other collaboration tools
- Strong understanding of export compliance regulations
Soft Skills:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to work independently and under general supervision
- Team player with a proactive attitude toward problem-solving
