Logistics Specialist
Job Type: W2 Contract
Contract Duration: 6 Months, possible extension
Work Location: Santa Ana, CA (Fully onsite)
Pay Rate: $35.00 - $36.00 per hour
Job Summary
The Logistics Specialist is a fully onsite, 6-month contract role focused on monitoring and analyzing operational and financial performance, identifying variances, and supporting reporting and claims activities within a logistics environment. This position requires strong Excel skills, experience with SAP or similar systems, and the ability to work cross-functionally to investigate issues, communicate with vendors, and deliver data-driven insights.

Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Economics, Business, Finance, or a related field
- 1–3 years of experience in planning, risk management, or finance within a logistics environment (preferred)
Job Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze key operational and financial performance metrics on a regular basis
- Identify root causes for discrepancies between actual performance and forecasts
- Analyze issues and prepare reports and recommendations for team leadership
- Investigate claim requests to determine validity
- Communicate with vendors to recover on claims
- Gather and analyze claim-related documentation
- Support ad-hoc reporting requests
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, Finance, or a related field
- Experience with SAP and strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Ability to work effectively within cross?functional teams
- Ability to adapt quickly and remain flexible in a dynamic environment
- Experience using advanced supply chain management, enterprise planning, or financial planning systems (SAP or similar)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including PPT presentations
- Ability to work independently or collaboratively to meet project goals and deadlines
Minimum Requirements
- Previous experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and related accounting software
- Ability to apply accounting and mathematical concepts
