Locum - Physician - Surgery - General Pendleton, OR

Required Skills:

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in General Surgery
  • Valid medical license for Oregon
  • Proven competency in performing diagnostic and screening colonoscopies, cholecystectomy, hernia repair with mesh, diagnostic EGD, breast excision, abdominal wall repair, appendectomy, skin excision, and hemorrhoidectomy
  • Strong clinical judgment and excellent communication skills
  • Ability to respond effectively to trauma cases and emergencies
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within a hospital and clinic environment

Nice to Have Skills:
  • Experience working in acute care and outpatient settings
  • Previous locum tenens experience
  • Familiarity with Meditech and eCW EMR systems
  • Trauma surgery experience or certification

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Medical Degree (MD or DO)
  • Completion of an accredited General Surgery residency program
  • Minimum of 2 years of surgical practice experience preferred
  • Prior experience in rural or community hospital settings is advantageous

Other Requirements:
  • Willingness to work a 7-10 day block schedule
  • Ability to work Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with 24-hour call coverage
  • Availability to start as soon as credentialed, no later than July 1, 2026
  • Must not have a history of malpractice issues, dismissals, or disciplinary actions
  • Travel accommodations preferred via local options, with candidates flying into Pasco, WA, and arranging transportation to Pendleton
