Overview
We are seeking an experienced OB Hospitalist to fill a locum position at a busy hospital performing approximately 300 deliveries annually. In this role, you will provide critical obstetric coverage, working collaboratively with private or hospital-employed Certified Nurse Midwives and Family Practice Physicians. Your expertise will contribute to delivering exceptional maternal healthcare, supporting the hospitals mission to promote positive birthing experiences and health outcomes.
Required Skills
- Valid and unrestricted medical license to practice obstetrics and gynecology
- Board certification or eligibility in OB-GYN or Family Medicine with obstetric privileges
- Proven experience in hospital-based obstetric care and deliveries
- Strong clinical assessment, decision-making, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently within a hospital team environment
Nice to Have Skills
- Experience working in diverse patient populations
- Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems
- Additional certifications in neonatal resuscitation (NRP) or obstetric emergencies
- Bilingual capabilities to enhance patient communication
Preferred Education and Experience
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
- Minimum of 2 years' hospital-based OB-GYN or family medicine experience with obstetrics
- Previous locum or temporary hospitalist experience is advantageous
Other Requirements
- Must have current State medical licensure and DEA certification
- Compliance with all applicable hospital policies and safety protocols
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed
- Travel and related expenses reimbursed where applicable
- Certify understanding and adherence to hospital standards and protocols
