Join Our Team as a Locum Physician in General Medicine (VA) – Make a Difference for Veterans
Elevate your medical career by providing essential healthcare services to Veterans across Virginia. As a Locum Physician specializing in General Medicine, you'll play a vital role in performing non-treatment Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments, supporting our nation's heroes. This position offers flexibility, competitive compensation, and the opportunity to contribute meaningful care within a respected federal program.
Required Skills:
- Valid medical license in Virginia or the ability to obtain one promptly
- Board-certified or eligible in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Orthopedic Surgery, or related fields with experience in general medicine
- Proven experience conducting Compensation & Pension exams and health assessments
- Excellent interview and physical assessment skills, including range of motion and muscle strength testing
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in report documentation
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines efficiently
Nice to Have Skills:
- Prior experience working with Veterans or in government healthcare settings
- Familiarity with VA procedures and documentation standards
- Certification in DMA or other relevant credentials
- Experience with telehealth or remote assessment platforms
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Medical degree from an accredited institution
- Active VA or military healthcare experience preferred
- Minimum of 2 years clinical practice in general medicine or related specialties
- Prior experience with Compensation & Pension evaluations highly advantageous
Other Requirements:
- Own a dedicated office location for conducting exams
- Ability to work on a PRN basis, with flexibility for 4-hour half-day or 8-hour full-day shifts
- Willingness to perform administrative follow-up work, including report submissions and addendums
- Local candidates only; travel and related expenses included in rates
- Availability to start on March 6, 2026
