Locum - Physician - General Medicine NV

As a Locum General Medicine Physician with Veterans Evaluation Services (VES), a Maximus company, you'll play a crucial role in conducting Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments. Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform compensation and pension examinations, primarily interviews with some physical assessments such as range of motion and muscle strength testing.
  • Conduct Separation Health Assessments for Veterans.
  • Complete exams within scheduled half-day (4 hours) or full-day (8 hours) shifts.
  • Submit detailed reports and addendums promptly.
  • Adhere strictly to exam protocols; no prescribing or treatment involved.
  • Maintain compliance with credentialing and onboarding processes.

Required Skills:
  • Active medical license in Nevada.
  • Background in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Orthopedic Surgery, or related general medicine.
  • Experience with compensation and pension exams preferred.
  • Strong interview skills and physical assessment capability.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently within own office locations.

Nice to Have Skills:
  • Prior experience with VA or government evaluations.
  • Familiarity with medical documentation and report submission.
  • Certification or training related to compensation exams.

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • MD or DO degree.
  • At least 2 years of clinical experience in general medicine.
  • Prior experience performing non-treatment exams or familiarity with Veteran healthcare.

Other Requirements:
  • Must have own office location within specified cities: Pahrump, Gardnerville/Minden, or Ely, NV.
  • Travel support included in rates; local candidates preferred.
  • Willingness to attend brief training and initial exams.
  • Capable of handling follow-up administrative work such as addendums and diagnostics review.
  • No reimbursement for certifications or portal training prior to start.

Compensation & Benefits:
  • Hourly Rate: $624.00 (flat rate for 4-hour and longer shifts, no OT or holiday pay)
