Job Title: Locum - Physician - General Medicine MO
Overview:
Join a dedicated team of healthcare professionals at Veterans Evaluation Services (VES), a Maximus company committed to serving our nation's Veterans. We are seeking experienced General Medicine Providers to perform Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments nationwide. This flexible, PRN role is ideal for physicians passionate about making a meaningful impact while maintaining a flexible schedule. Whether working half-days or full days, you will play a vital part in supporting Veterans’ well-being through quick and efficient assessments. Required Skills:
- Valid medical license in Missouri
- Proven experience in internal medicine, family medicine, or general medicine
- Strong clinical assessment skills, including physical evaluations and interview techniques
- Ability to perform range of motion and muscle strength testing
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Knowledge of Veterans’ exam requirements and documentation standards preferred
Nice to Have Skills:
- Prior experience with Compensation & Pension (C&P) exams
- Knowledge of VA guidelines and procedures
- Certification in relevant areas (e.g., DMA certification)
- Experience with telehealth or remote assessments
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical practice in general or internal medicine
- Prior experience conducting C&P exams or relevant evaluations is a plus
Other Requirements:
- Own a dedicated office location within a 50-mile radius of specified cities in Missouri
- Must have reliable internet and telecommunication setup for remote reporting
- Willingness to complete required credentialing and onboarding procedures swiftly
- No travel reimbursement for certifications or portal training
- Availability to start on March 6, 2026, with flexible shifts (½ day or full day)
- Commitment to ongoing follow-up administrative tasks such as report addendums and diagnostics reading
This position offers a competitive hourly pay rate of $624.00, with additional flat rates for half-day ($800) and full-day ($1600) shifts, plus a one-time bonus of $650 upon completing training and performing initial exams.
