Overview
Holzer Jackson is actively seeking a skilled Emergency Medicine provider to deliver exceptional patient care in Jackson, Ohio. The selected physician will oversee emergency department operations, including supervising advanced practice providers, managing patient admissions, and collaborating with specialists across multiple disciplines. With an annual volume of approximately 18,500 visits, this position offers a fast-paced environment suited for dedicated professionals committed to maintaining high standards of care. Ongoing availability for a minimum of 5 shifts per month, preferably 8-10, over a 12+ month period, ensures consistent work and income. This role is perfect for physicians looking to expand their experience in a supportive setting with flexible scheduling.
Required Skills
- Active Ohio medical license and valid DEA certification
- Board certification or eligibility in Emergency Medicine
- Proven clinical expertise in emergency patient care
- Strong leadership skills and ability to oversee advanced practice providers
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
- Ability to work 8p-8a or 8a-8p shifts, with minimal supervision
- Knowledge of EMR systems (All Scripts/Paragon)
Nice to Have Skills
- Experience supervising APPs
- Prior work in trauma or community hospital settings
- Familiarity with radiology, cardiology, pulmonology, and other consulting disciplines
Preferred Education and Experience
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
- Minimum of 2+ years of emergency medicine experience in a hospital setting
- Prior locum or permanent hospital-based practice preferred
Other Requirements
- Must be available to start as soon as credentialed (minimum 60 days from start date)
- Ability to work a minimum of five shifts per month, with preferred availability of 8-10 shifts
- Travel arrangements must be booked through OVP; no overtime compensation is provided
- Compliance with all applicable licensure, certification, and hospital policies
