Are you a dedicated Nurse Practitioner with a passion for General Medicine seeking flexible, impactful work? Veterans Evaluation Services (VES), a Maximus company, is currently looking for skilled providers to perform Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments across Nevada. This unique opportunity allows qualified clinicians to contribute to our nation's Veterans while enjoying flexible schedules and competitive compensation. With ongoing assignments and the chance to work in your own office, this role offers a rewarding balance of professional fulfillment and personal convenience.

Responsibilities include conducting interview-based exams with selective physical assessments, primarily focused on range of motion and muscle strength testing. Candidates will perform one-time non-treatment exams and health assessments, with no prescribing or treatment involved. The position is ideal for providers with backgrounds in family medicine, internal medicine, orthopedic surgery, or general medicine, especially those experienced with compensation and pension evaluations.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Valid Nurse Practitioner license with current certification
  • Proven experience in general medicine or related fields
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for conducting exams
  • Ability to work independently in a professional setting
  • Efficient report writing and documentation skills
  • Familiarity with physical assessment techniques and medical record review

Nice to Have Skills:
  • Experience with compensation and pension evaluations
  • Additional certifications relevant to Veteran healthcare
  • Previous remote or independent practice experience

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing
  • Minimum of 2 years clinical experience in general medicine
  • Prior experience with exam-based assessments and documentation

Other Requirements:
  • Must own a privately licensed office within designated radius areas (Pahrump, Gardnerville/Minden, Ely)
  • Reliable internet and access to necessary exam equipment
  • Willingness to perform exams on a PRN basis with ongoing assignments
  • Local candidates only; travel expenses are included in compensation

Compensation & Benefits:
  • Hourly Rate: $402.00, with flat rates for half-day ($600) and full-day ($1200) shifts
  • One-time bonus of $650 upon completing initial training and first exams
  • Weekly pay via direct deposit
