Are you a dedicated Nurse Practitioner with a passion for serving our nation's heroes? We are seeking qualified Locum Nurse Practitioners to provide critical General Medicine evaluations across North Carolina. This opportunity allows you to utilize your expertise in a flexible, rewarding environment while supporting Veterans through meaningful assessments. Required Skills:
- Valid Nurse Practitioner license in North Carolina.
- Experience in family medicine, internal medicine, or general medicine.
- Strong interview and assessment skills, including physical evaluation techniques such as range of motion and muscle strength testing.
- Ability to perform Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments efficiently.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Basic computer proficiency for report submission and administrative tasks.
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience with veterans’ health assessments or compensation exams.
- Knowledge of disability evaluation procedures.
- Prior experience working independently in a clinic or office setting.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Master’s or Doctorate degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
- At least 2 years of clinical practice in primary or internal medicine.
- Previous experience with military or veteran health evaluations is a plus but not mandatory.
Other Requirements:
- Own a clinical office space within the specified radius areas in NC.
- Reliable internet and necessary equipment for virtual documentation and communications.
- Willingness to work on a PRN basis, with flexible scheduling options—half or full-day shifts.
- Ability to perform exams that are primarily interview-based with minimal physical assessments.
- No prescribing or therapeutic treatment responsibilities.
- Willing to complete onboarding and required training promptly.
This position offers a flat rate of $600 for half-day shifts (up to 4 hours) and $1200 for full-day shifts (5 hours or more), with a one-time bonus of $650 after completing initial training and first exams. Travel costs are included, and the role supports local candidates only. The start date is March 6, 2026.
