Are you a dedicated Nurse Practitioner with a passion for serving Veterans? We are seeking a highly skilled Locum Nurse Practitioner specializing in General Medicine to provide crucial Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments. This role offers the flexibility of PRN work with meaningful contributions to our nation's Veterans, all while enjoying competitive rates and supportive team guidance.
In this vital position, you will perform interview-based exams with some physical assessments, including range of motion and muscle strength testing. No prescribing or treatment is required, making this an ideal role for experienced professionals seeking flexible, impactful work. Whether working at your own office or a VES facility, your expertise will directly support Veterans’ health evaluations.
Required Skills:
- Current Nurse Practitioner license in Florida
- Experience in General Medicine, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Orthopedic Surgery
- Ability to conduct compensation and pension exams or health assessments
- Excellent communication and assessment skills
- Ability to work independently and efficiently
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience with Veterans’ health evaluations
- Prior background in compensation and pension processes
- Familiarity with physical assessments in a clinical setting
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Master’s or Doctorate degree in Nursing (MSN, DNP, or equivalent)
- Minimum of 2 years clinical experience in General Medicine or related fields
- Prior experience performing evaluations for VA or military veterans is a plus
Other Requirements:
- Must have own office within 50 miles of Lake City, FL, or be willing to work at a VES facility within 50 miles
- Local candidates preferred; travel is included in the rate
- Ability to complete exams on a PRN basis, approximately 2 days per week
- Quick credentialing and onboarding process
- Willingness to complete required training and perform initial exams for a bonus incentive
Hourly Pay Rate: $600 (half-day, 4 hours or less) / $1200 (full day, 5+ hours), plus a $650 bonus upon successful completion of training and initial exams. Rates are all-inclusive with travel covered for local providers. Please note that overtime and holiday rates are not applicable.
