Required Skills:
- Valid Nurse Practitioner license in Texas
- Experience in general medicine, internal medicine, family medicine, or related fields
- Strong interview skills and ability to conduct assessments
- Knowledge of compensation and pension exam protocols is a plus
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Nice to Have Skills:
- Previous experience with veterans' healthcare assessments
- Familiarity with physical exam components such as range of motion and strength testing
- Certification in healthcare documentation or relevant training
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Master’s or higher degree in Nursing (MSN or DNP)
- Minimum of 2 years clinical experience as a Nurse Practitioner
- Prior experience with Compensation & Pension (C&P) examinations or related evaluations is advantageous
Other Requirements:
- Candidate must have their own office within 50 miles of Houston, TX, or be willing to serve at a VES facility within the designated area
- Ability to complete brief exams, including interviews and physical assessments (no treatment or prescribing)
- Willingness to undergo quick credentialing and onboarding process
- Commitment to completing follow-up administrative work, such as report submissions and addendums
- Flexibility to work 4-hour half-day shifts or full 8-hour days on a PRN basis
Compensation & Benefits:
- Hourly rate of $402.00
- Flat rates: $600 for 4-hour shifts or less; $1200 for shifts of 5 hours or more
- One-time bonus of $650 upon training completion and first exams
- Weekly pay via direct deposit
