Required Skills:
- Valid Nurse Practitioner license in Texas
- Proven experience in general medicine, family medicine, or internal medicine
- Strong interview and physical assessment skills, including range of motion and muscle strength testing
- Ability to perform compensation and pension exams and separation health assessments
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and timely report submission
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience with VA or veteran-related healthcare services
- Background in orthopedic surgery or other specialties within general medicine
- Familiarity with government contractor protocols and certifications
- Prior experience in telehealth or remote assessments
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Master’s degree or higher in Nursing or related field
- Minimum of 2+ years of clinical experience in general or internal medicine
- Prior experience performing Compensation & Pension exams or similar evaluations
Other Requirements:
- Providers must have their own office within 50 miles of the listed city or be willing to see patients at a VES facility within the specified radius, depending on the coverage need
- Eligibility for licensure, certification, and travel reimbursements when applicable
- Availability to work starting March 6, 2026, on a PRN basis, including flexible days and hours
- Ability to complete training and initial exams, with a ready commitment to ongoing administrative work such as report submissions and addendums
This role offers competitive hourly pay of $402.00, with flat rates for half-day ($600) and full-day ($1,200) shifts, plus a one-time bonus of $650 upon completion of training and your first exams. Local candidates are preferred, with travel covered within the rate structure.
