Join Our Team as a Locum Nurse Practitioner - General Medicine AK
Are you a dedicated Nurse Practitioner with a passion for serving Veterans and making a meaningful impact? We are seeking highly qualified Locum Nurse Practitioners to provide essential general medicine services across Alaska. This is a compelling opportunity to contribute to veterans' health through non-treatment, interview-based assessments in a flexible, PRN capacity. Required Skills:
- Valid Nurse Practitioner license with authorization to practice in Alaska
- Experience in family medicine, internal medicine, orthopedic surgery, or related general medicine fields
- Ability to perform Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments
- Strong verbal communication skills and attention to detail
- Comfortable conducting interview-based assessments, including physical examinations like range of motion and muscle strength testing
- Ability to work independently in a clinic setting
- Willingness to follow standardized protocols and complete required documentation accurately and timely
Nice to Have Skills:
- Prior experience with veterans' health assessments or military-related examinations
- Familiarity with medical report writing and administrative documentation
- Multilingual skills or additional certifications related to medical assessments
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Graduate degree in Nursing (MSN or DNP)
- Minimum of 2 years clinical experience in general medicine or related fields
- Previous experience with compensation and pension exams is advantageous but not mandatory
Other Requirements:
- Must have own office location within specified radius for designated sites (Juneau, Sitka, Delta Junction)
- Local candidates preferred; traveling is included in rates
- Availability to start on 03/06/2026
- Ability to work on a PRN basis, performing both half-day and full-day exams
- No prescribing or treatment responsibilities involved
- Quick credentialing and onboarding process

Hourly Pay Rate: $402.00
