Locum - NP/PA - Trauma Surgery Atlantic City, NJ

Join a dynamic trauma and acute care surgical team at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City, NJ, where your expertise will make an immediate impact. This vital temporary role offers the opportunity to provide high-quality care in a level II trauma center during a critical staffing period. Work 12-hour shifts—either 7AM-7PM or 7PM-7AM—and support trauma alerts, inpatient care, operating room procedures, and rounding activities. While formal call is not required, shift coverage may include weekends and nights based on schedule needs. Be part of a collaborative environment with a supervising physician on-site 24/7, ensuring seamless support and excellent patient outcomes.

Required Skills

  • Current NP or PA licensure in the state of New Jersey
  • Ability to manage trauma alerts and perform surgical consultations
  • Proficiency in admitting, rounding, and supporting OR procedures related to trauma
  • Skilled in ventilation management and invasive procedures such as Chest Tube, Central Line, Arterial Line, and PICC Line
  • Experience with minor laceration suturing and non-invasive ventilatory support (BiPAP/CPAP)
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work within a team-oriented environment

Nice to Have Skills
  • RNFA certification or surgical first assistant experience
  • Prior trauma or acute care surgical experience
  • Familiarity with Cerner EMR system
  • Additional procedural certifications or advanced life support training

Preferred Education and Experience
  • Master's degree in Nursing (NP) or Physician Assistant Certification
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in trauma or acute care surgery settings
  • Prior locum or temporary coverage experience is advantageous

Other Requirements
  • Local candidate preferred; travel reimbursement provided as mileage
  • No need for NJ licensure application; current state license required
  • Ability to start immediately and commit through October
  • Valid BLS and ACLS certifications
