The Mission
We are seeking a talented, self-starting Camera Operator to join our live production team for three weekends during Coachella & Stagecoach. You will be on the front lines of live stream productions at the Coachella festival and surrounding private events. This is a high-stakes environment where you’ll be ensuring a flawless stream for the viewers at home.
Key Responsibilities
• Capture & Frame: Take real-time direction to capture dynamic, stable shots in a high-pressure live environment that feel immersive and help tell the story
• Technical Agility: Manage exposure, focus, lighting and audio levels on the fly.
• Rigging: Efficiently rig and de-rig Sony FX3s and PTZ cameras onto various surfaces and tripods
• Signal Flow: Manage HDMI and USB-C cabling; troubleshoot internet and encoder connectivity as needed.
Requirements
• The Gear: Must be proficient with cameras, zoom lenses, and audio
• Fast Learner: You need to be able to adapt quickly. We move fast, and you must be able to adapt to our workflow in seconds. We are live
• Physicality: Ability to lift 50+ lbs and maneuver gear through crowds and close-quarter environments.
• Professionalism: You will be working in high-profile environments around top talent. You must be punctual and professional at all times
• Problem Solver: We need a "self-starter"—if a cable fails or a light needs adjusting, you see it and fix it before being asked.
• Team Player: No egos. We work as a tight unit to get the stream across the finish line. We win as a team.
Schedule
This is a contractor role specifically for the three weekends of April. Applicants must be local to the Coachella Valley or able to travel. If you do not have existing lodging we will provide that for the duration of the contract.
Training & Investment in Your Success
We don't expect you to walk in on day 1 and know our proprietary workflow on day one. Because we are invested in your success and the quality of the stream:
• Mandatory Paid Training: We will conduct mandatory, paid training sessions leading up to the production.
• Hands-on Prep: These sessions will cover our specific workflows, troubleshooting, communication protocols, and more
• Goal: We want you to feel 100% confident and "dialed in" before the first camera goes live.
