Our prestigious law firm is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Litigation Paralegal to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned professional with extensive knowledge and expertise in civil litigation. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to contribute to our firm's ongoing success while gaining invaluable experience in a fast-paced, high-stakes legal environment.
Responsibilities:
As a Litigation Paralegal, your duties will include:
1. Assisting attorneys in all stages of litigation cases from onset through post-trial.
2. Conducting initial case investigations and gathering and organizing evidence and other important documents for attorney review and case preparation.
3. Drafting pleadings, motions, and appellate documents and filing them with the court.
4. Assisting attorneys in the preparation for trials, hearings, depositions, and meetings.
5. Coordinating and managing routine case management duties including scheduling deadlines, court dates, and legal meetings.
6. Performing administrative duties such as filing papers, answering telephone calls, and maintaining and organizing files.
7. Conducting legal research and drafting legal memoranda as required.
8. Liaising with clients, witnesses, court officials, and other legal professionals in a professional manner.
9. Maintaining confidentiality of all firm-related and client information.
10. Providing comprehensive support to our legal team, including preparing legal documents, managing client files, and offering general administrative assistance.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate must possess the following qualifications:
1. A minimum of 7 years of experience as a paralegal in defense civil litigation, ideally employment litigation.
2. A Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved institution or equivalent.
3. Exceptional knowledge of federal, state, and local court filing rules, litigation procedures, and protocols.
4. Proficiency in using legal software and Microsoft Office Suite.
5. Excellent organizational skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
6. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
7. Strong research skills and the ability to interpret and relay legal information with accuracy.
8. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
9. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and in a team.
10. High level of integrity and professional accountability.
