Responsibilities:
As an Insurance Defense Litigation Paralegal, you will be at the heart of our legal operations, playing a key role in ensuring the smooth running of our litigation processes. Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
1. Assisting in the preparation and management of discovery documents, including organizing, indexing, and tracking files.
2. Conducting legal research and factual investigation to support ongoing cases.
3. Drafting pleadings, motions, and appellate documents, as well as filing them with the court.
4. Assisting attorneys in preparing for trials, hearings, and depositions.
5. Coordinating and managing schedules, deadlines, and task assignments within the legal team.
6. Liaising with clients, court officials, and other legal professionals in a professional and courteous manner.
7. Maintaining and updating case management systems and ensuring that all case-related information is accurate and up-to-date.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need the following qualifications:
1. A minimum of 5 years of experience as a paralegal, preferably within insurance defense litigation.
2. A bachelor's degree in law, paralegal studies, or a related field. A paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved institution is a plus.
3. Proficiency in managing discovery documents and a thorough understanding of the litigation process, from discovery to trial.
4. Exceptional research skills and a strong understanding of legal terminology and principles.
5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to draft clear and concise legal documents.
6. Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
7. Proficiency in using legal software and Microsoft Office Suite.
8. A high level of professionalism and discretion, with the ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
9. A proactive attitude, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
