Job Details
The Litigation Legal Secretary will support attorneys handling insurance defense matters, including construction defect, personal injury, and general liability cases. This role requires a highly organized professional who can manage a high-volume desk, maintain accuracy under deadlines, and work effectively in a fully remote environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, format, and finalize pleadings, motions, and legal correspondence in compliance with California court rules
- Handle state and federal e-filing, including service of documents and tracking confirmations
- Maintain and manage litigation calendars, including deadlines, hearings, depositions, and trial dates
- Coordinate and schedule depositions, mediations, and court appearances
- Assist with discovery preparation, including document organization and basic formatting of responses
- Open and maintain case files, ensuring all documents are properly organized and updated
- Communicate professionally with attorneys, clients, court personnel, and opposing counsel
- Support trial preparation, including exhibit binders, witness materials, and trial logistics
- Manage a high-volume desk while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines
