Our prestigious legal firm is seeking an experienced and professional Litigation Legal Assistant to join our dynamic team. This position is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated professional who is passionate about the law and wants to take their career to the next level. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive legal administrative support to our team of attorneys, focusing on litigation matters. This includes everything from managing attorney calendars to handling attorney billing. If you are looking to work in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same, this role could be for you.
Responsibilities:
1. Provide high-level administrative support to a team of attorneys, including managing complex calendars, scheduling meetings, and coordinating travel arrangements.
2. Prepare, edit, and proofread legal documents and correspondence, ensuring all materials are accurate and professionally presented.
3. Manage attorney billing, including preparing and submitting invoices, tracking payments, and resolving any billing issues.
4. Assist with the preparation for trials, depositions, and hearings, including organizing evidence, conducting research, and liaising with clients and witnesses.
5. Maintain an organized and up-to-date filing system, ensuring all confidential information is securely stored and easily accessible.
6. Provide excellent customer service, acting as the first point of contact for clients and maintaining professional and positive relationships at all times.
7. Stay up-to-date with changes in legislation and industry trends, ensuring the legal team is aware of any potential impacts on current cases.
Qualifications:
1. Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Legal Assistant or similar role, preferably within a litigation setting.
2. Proficiency in calendar management and attorney billing, with a strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
3. Excellent knowledge of legal terminology, court procedures, and legal document formatting.
4. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, attorneys, and other stakeholders.
5. Strong organizational skills, with the ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and confidentiality in a fast-paced environment.
6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, as well as legal research software.
7. A proactive and flexible approach to work, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
