Job Details
Our client, a well-regarded law firm, is seeking a Litigation Associate with 4–5+ years of defense litigation experience. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated attorney who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is looking to take ownership of cases while working collaboratively with a strong litigation team.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and file responsive pleadings in state and federal courts.
Conduct factual investigations and develop case strategies.
Prepare and respond to written discovery; take and defend depositions of parties and witnesses.
Draft litigation plans and budgets.
Conduct legal research and draft briefs, including preliminary objections and motions for summary judgment.
Develop and execute discovery plans.
Regularly communicate with supervising attorneys regarding case status and strategic recommendations.
Attend hearings, oral arguments, and status conferences.
Assist in locating, retaining, and preparing expert witnesses.
Participate in client and witness interviews.
Review and analyze medical records, project files, and electronically filed materials; coordinate responses as needed.
Qualifications
4–5+ years of defense litigation experience.
Excellent legal writing and analytical skills.
Working knowledge of state and federal court rules and civil procedure.
Demonstrated experience participating in depositions, oral arguments, and scheduling/status conferences.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple files and meet deadlines.
Excellent oral and written communication skills; able to interact professionally with attorneys, staff, and clients.
Highly organized, proactive, and a collaborative team player.
Ability to work independently, solve problems, and exercise sound judgment with minimal supervision.
Strong academic credentials required.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience reviewing and analyzing medical records.
Experience in complex civil defense matters.
