Litigation Assistant
A well-established, national law firm is seeking an experienced Legal Administrative Assistant (LAA) to support attorneys in its Frisco office. This full-time role requires a minimum of 3 years of litigation experience and the ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Role will be fully onsite at the firm's location in Frisco, Texas.
Key Responsibilities
The Legal Administrative Assistant will work closely with assigned attorneys and the Office Manager. Core duties include:
- Preparing letters, memos, and legal documents with strong attention to formatting and accuracy.
- Entering new client information, running conflict checks, and preparing engagement documentation.
- Drafting, preparing, and filing pleadings with courts and ensuring all deadlines are calendared accurately in the central docketing system.
- Coordinating travel arrangements and preparing expense reimbursements.
- Answering attorney phone lines and managing incoming communication.
- Entering attorney billable time in a timely manner.
- Utilizing specialized litigation skills while also supporting attorneys and staff in other practice areas as needed.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of litigation experience in a law firm setting, managing caseloads for multiple attorneys.
- Strong proficiency in Office 365 (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams, etc.).
- Strong proficiency with court deadlines and filing requirements at the state and federal level.
- Strong familiarity with filing electronically at the state and federal level
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize workload, and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills and sound judgment in interactions with clients, colleagues, and visitors.
- Certified Legal Secretary designation is a plus.
- Previous experience within insurance defense practices highly desired. Familiarity with construction cases preferred.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary Range: $60,000-$70,000 annually (based on experience, skills, and internal equity)
